Full Details
Town centre hotel, formally a Coaching Inn, dating from seventeenth century. We have 29 ensuite bedrooms, twins, doubles, singles, family and four poster.
Just off Junction 43 of the M4 motorway, 40 minutes West of Cardiff, and two minutes from Neath mainline railway station, the Castle Hotel is the perfect base for visitors to explore South Wales.

Situated in the Swansea Bay area, the Castle Hotel is at the gateway to South Wales with its beautiful Gower peninsula and stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons. From Neath you can discover the historic monuments and castles that make the area so popular, or relive its fascinating industrial heritage.

The inaugural meeting of the Welsh Rugby Union, the WRU, was held at the Castle Hotel on 12th March 1881. In the Centenary Room you can see the plaques of the original eleven members of the WRU. Only a few minutes walk away is Neath RFU, which is the oldest rugby club in Wales, founded in 1871.

For the sports/energetic minded, the surrounding area is blessed with a multitude of locations to satisfy their desires. There is a vast number of golf courses, all within easy reach, including Royal Porthcawl, Langland Bay, Fairwood, Penard, Neath, Earlswood, Swansea Bay, Southerndown, to name just a few. The area is renowned for its mountain biking facilities, especially the nearby Afan Argoed Country Park with its specially designed mountain bike trails. You can also go canoeing, sailing, absailing, potholing, walking and many more activities. For cyclists, the Celtic Trail, part of the national cycle way passes close to the hotel.

If its sand and beaches you like, Swansea Bay and the Gower offer a huge choice of unspoilt beautiful beaches, with a high number of Blue Flag beaches.

For those who enjoy touring the shops, Neath Town has a good selection of shops with many national outlets and the old Neath Market. A wider variety is available in Swansea City (15 minutes), Cardiff (40 minutes), McArthur Glen Designer Outlet (15 minutes), and the area has many specialised and craft shops.

Originally a coaching inn, reputedly frequented by Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton, the Castle still retains its friendliness, whilst offering the very best of food, wines and present day comfort.
Whether you are staying for business or pleasure, we will give you a really warm welcome and will do our very best to help you enjoy your stay.
