For a wonderful day out in a uniquely beautiful landscape, watching and learning about some of Wales’ most exciting wildlife, visit the innovative National Wetlands Centre in Llanelli.

One of the world-famous Wildfowl and Wetland Trust centres and the only one of its kind in Wales, the centre stretches over 550 acres of Burry inlet. Its spectacular mosaic of lakes, pools, lagoons and reed beds are home to a diversity of wild species from dragonflies to little egrets. There are also thousands of ducks, geese, swans and flamingos to admire as you wander the landscaped pathways and striking water gardens.

The Estuary cafe serves delicious home-cooked food in a relaxed setting against a backdrop of panoramic views of the wildlife and the spectacular Gower peninsula.
A visit to the hands-on Discovery Centre is informative and entertaining and you can pick up authentic Welsh souvenirs in the gift shop. Wheelchairs are available for those who find walking difficult and all areas are fully accessible. There’s also reserved parking and disabled toilet facilities.

The National Wetlands Centre is at the forefront of wetland conservation and every visit helps the important work of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, in the UK, and internationally.
