Full Details:
Plantasia is a massive glass Tropical hothouse pyramid located in Parc Tawe, right in the centre of Swansea. It features three climatic zones, tropical, arid and humid. There are over 5,000 unusual exotic plants including rare specimens such as the endangered Cowboy Cactus, an Agave from the deserts of America, and the African Violet Orchid which originates from the Montane forests of Tanzania and is now classified as endangered in the wild.
The tropical theme is enhanced by free-flying butterflies in the Butterfly House and a colony of endangered tamarind monkeys. There is also a large collection of reptiles, fish, insects, a Burmese python, a well stocked gift shop and coffee shop.
