Plantasia is a Tropical Hothouse Pyramid located in the centre of the city. It
features three climatic zones, tropical, arid and humid. There are over 5000
unusual and exotic plants including rare specimens such as the endangered Cowboy
Cactus, an Agave from the deserts of America and the African Violet Orchid which
originates from the Montane forests of Tanzania and is now classified as
endangered in the wild. The tropical theme is enhanced by free-flying
butterflies and a colony of endangered Tamarind Monkeys. There is also a large
collection of reptiles, fish and insects. During school holidays there is a
range of exciting events.
